Ben Murphy was reared in Borden County, Texas, the oldest son of a ranching family. He continues to maintain ties to the family ranch as he and his brother manage a beef cattle operation in Borden County. After graduating from Borden High School in 1980, he attended Texas Tech University where he obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. In May 2014, he graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning.

Ben resides in Midland, Texas where his daughter Macy attends Midland High School. In addition to his daughter, he has two adult sons. Wes, his wife Kim and their daughter Kyler live in the Houston area, and Brady lives in Georgetown. In his spare time Ben enjoys following Texas Tech sporting events with his family.

Ben joined Global Wealth Advisors in July 2014 and holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®, Member FINRA/SIPC, as an Investment Advisor Representative. Prior to joining Global Wealth Advisors, he spent more than 25 years in public accounting, having been awarded his license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1986. He received his designation as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) in 1999. He remains a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Previously, Ben operated his own public accounting firm from 1989 to 2011 in Snyder, Texas. In June 2011, he transitioned his accounting practice to the firm of Hoyle Partain and Company, LLC, so he could devote the necessary time to address the financial planning needs of his clients.
