Once again, we adopted a group of children over the holiday season through the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Collin County. The CAC provides a one-stop location where children who have been physically, emotionally or sexually abused or neglected receive services. Each center houses police, medical, therapeutic, social services and legal authorities from the county to help reduce further traumatization of the child while their case is being investigated.
These children have been removed from the offending situation to live with relatives, in foster homes, in patient residential treatment centers, or are currently receiving services from the CAC. By partnering with the facility’s adopt a child holiday program as part of their Holiday Toy Drive, we helped them experience a joyful holiday season by selecting items from their wish lists.
Last year’s event was a huge success. We collected dozens of items for the children served by the CAC.
