Volleyball and Charitable Giving

Giving Back With Volleyball for Charity

By Kris Maksimovich:

When people think of volleyball, they immediately think of the Olympics. Though that level of professional spirit is inspiring, there is another form of volleyball we find inspiring as well. Local volleyball leagues offer the same experience and camaraderie, but they also do it for charity.

When GWA hired Hailey Nelson as our client services associate, we also hired an avid sportswoman who spends her summers playing in both court and beach volleyball tournaments.

Charitable giving tournaments offer Hailey the opportunity to meet others who feel just as passionately about the sport. She is pictured above with US Olympians, from left, Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena.

Charitable Giving Through VolleyballHailey has enjoyed volleyball from an early age, and further honed her craft while receiving her bachelor’s degree in marketing at Texas Tech University. She served on the Texas Tech Club Team and when not studying or playing on the team, she spent her spare time coaching volleyball.

This year, Hailey has played in multiple charity tournaments sponsored by a variety of hosts supporting nonprofits such as Hope Cottage Pregnancy and Adoption Center, PAWS for Irving Animal Rescue, YMCA, Breast Cancer Awareness and the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
